Summer Cocktail: Beer Margaritas

You heard READ right... BEER margaritas, and my oh my are they delicious.

The lovely
Monbon shared this insanely intriguing concoction with me last week before she jetsetted to the Hawaiian Islands for the holiday weekend. In an effort to quell some of my burning envy and channel a little island livin', I decided to give this little cocktail a go for our Fourth celebrations.

☞ Beer Margaritas ☜

① In no particular order mix:

12 oz frozen limeade
12 oz 7 Up
12 oz of Corona (one bottle)
12 oz tequila

② Crush ice

③ Throw a zest of a lime on top

④ Pour margarita over ice

⑤ Squeeze fresh lime juice

"It's absolutely amazing." ⇐ Yes, that IS part of the recipe.

The fixins'

Make sure to get every last drop.

Finally got to use the "crushed ice" setting on my blender!

Looks refreshing, but something's missing...

Oh yes, therrre we go!

All the way up to the top w/ a pinch of lime zest. Thank you, Mr. Microplane– couldn't have done it without you.

Give it a quick swirl so the lime zest doesn't look so dubious.

This is the ultimate Summer cocktail! It's a fabulous twist on the traditional margarita which—let's face it— can get kind of boring. The limeade gives it that perfect lip-smacking pucker of a margarita, but the Corona and 7Up add a whole different kick at the end. It's super simple to throw together and for the health-conscious, I'm sure you can experiment with light beer and diet soda (do I smell a companion post?).

  1. Yay! Awesome! So glad you got to try it! It definitely is addicting, and dangerously delicious. I'd have 2 or 3 without even thinking about the alcohol content of it! Also, I love our microplane as well! Mahalo!
